planning!

we are t minus 104 days till wedding time and we have my wedding dress, the church, the wedding party, and almost a reception all booked. we are fast! the picture above is at the reception venue. we are planning on february for the wedding and i can't wait for the reception. it has a huge beautiful stone fireplace and lots of pretty windows.

i can't share pics of my dress until later because dave will look at this but i will give you a hint. the tailor on saturday told me it looked like a fairytale dress. i can't WAIT till it's ready. it is completely opposite of what i thought i wanted but it was the first dress i tried on (so cliche) and i couldn't stop thinking about it. my dad bought it that week and wanted to surprise me but couldn't wait to tell me.

i hope all this wedding talk doesn't get old for you. don't worry i will stop posting about it soon i am sure. there are so many funny stories but i can span those out. so, what else do we need...

invitations are bought, we just need to add some things to them
wedding decorations
wedding bands
honeymoon (totally a priority)
shoes, jewelry etc.
bridesmaid dresses (i need help with this. i want black velvet but can't find anything. at all)

there are tons more things but that is the list for now.

share with me your wedding advice, i would love to read all your pointers!

You're almost as fast as we were! We got engaged on 5/15 and we were going on vacation leaving 5/19, so we wanted to have the major things decided before we left. Thankfully we knew we wanted something completely different and laid-back, and the park where he proposed was also where we had our first real date so we were set on that for the ceremony...one thing led to another and between the 15th and 19th of May we had the ceremony, reception, and date all set!

My dress was the complete opposite of what I thought I wanted. I was thinking something A-line, very plain, no train...my dress was more of a mermaid cut with TONS of beadwork and ruffles around the base. It had a train too, but I kept that pinned up all day.

Hillary,
You're such a tease with the nitty gritty wedding details! :)

You're always posting about other people's weddings but there'd be nothing more exciting than reading all about YOUR wedding goodness.

KEEP IT COMING!!

Hey Hill,

It's Seth

Make sure the night of the wedding, to relax and have fun. It goes by in such a blur that at the end of the night you and Dave will look at each other and won't be able to believe that all those months of planning and everything is over! Also I can rent out Lindsey as a haggler she got amazing deals for our wedding.

Ooh! A fashion challenge! Can I help?!

What are you looking for in terms of bridesmaids dresses? Short? Long? What kind of vibe?

Here's what turned up after a quick search:

Textured black velvet dress, good price:
http://www.bonton.com/shop/women/dresses-social-occasion/cocktail-dresses/k-studio-sparkle-velvet-dress-black-silver_320482.html

Anthropologie velvet skirt black dress. Expensive, and you'd probably want to add a different waist band to match your colors better:

Might be a little racy, but maybe ok with a shawl?

I love the embellished neckline on these:

Really simple, sweet, black velvet dress, great price:

This one could be great too:

Also, while I can't speak for others, I say keep the wedding posts coming. I love seeing what you're up to! I'm knee deep in all this stuff too, but opted to take my time (the big day's not until September).

Good luck! Honestly, let me know if there's anything I can do to help! ~Lindsay

So happy for you!! Sounds so beautiful...
About the bridesmaid dresses...my cousin got her dresses at White House Black Market - they have a new wedding line. Have you looked there?

Also, do not apologize for writing so much about wedding planning!! It is such an exciting time, and it is so much fun to read about as well. I write every day about my little babe, whether or not people get bored :) I say, go for it. :)
